Heated gloves are much more effective than heated grips in my experience. Install is a snap as well. LOL

I already have heated gloves. Highway 21 heated gloves. I've tried a few different models, including the 300$ RevIt heated gloves.
They arent enough for my hands by themselves.
I wore my heated gloves on my PanAmerica test ride and the PanAm I was testing had heated grips. I turned them on and it was great. Gloves and grips together cozy warm hands.
I was going to change out the stock grips anyways, so I decided might as well make them heated.
So I am installing Empire Heated Grips.

I soldered the Wiring Harness for plugging in the heated grips today, and my rear tire got here too.
Look how far down those wear bars are.
These dont look as cool as the Bridgestone tires on my bike, but they will probably perform much better.
I'm hoping to wait another few months before having to put the new tires on.
Gonna have warm hands and higher performance soon.
Will be interested in review of Cruisetecs. I don't recall them being stocked in Heritage sizes. I went with Dunlop American Elite. Anything's better than the crappy, cheap Dunlop 401 the bike came with.

Empire Heated Grips finally installed and working.
Next: Power Clutch. I need to also paint the perch clamps and the under cover on the battery box side.
The set of chrome battery box covers I got into today, the bigger one was broken.

I have my empire heated grips and plan to install this weekend on my Low Rider ST....any issues that I should be aware of on the install?
Make sure you have the right kit to wire in the grips: 69201750
I used a wire stripper gun, and heat gun soldered butt joints.
You will have to take off the tank entirely.
You have to take off the horn from the battery box, but it does not detach so you'll have to deal with it fiddling around with that stupid accessories caddy.
Getting the caddy back up on the frame is an enormous pain in the ***.
I needed to use my Long Torx bits to get the stupid horn back onto the box.
It's a real pain in the *** trying to finagle around that stupid accessories box and get everything in there.
If your wires are pulled tight from taller risers, the frame wiring boot will not go back on properly.
The wiring for the grips is not that particularly long, it barely reaches with my setup. If you have anything taller than that you will have to use the extension. So splice the Y splitter cable longer if you want to accommodate longer bars. But because of this be prepared to have to waterproofing tape up the connectors.
I put dielectric grease on the surfaces of the female connectors(not pins), and electric tape wrapped the one that was hanging out under the headlamp nacelle.
I will probably go back and put the extension for the throttle side in, and then waterproof tape it up so that the actual connector is inside the frame, and the intermediate one that's exposed is waterproofed.
