Last night I helped the kid install a Mustang pillion seat and passenger pegs on the Slim. The latter were an early birthday present to him.
Actually, my role was more as a consultant, he did the actual work. My role in wrenching on that bike is becoming less and less with each mod; he's learning and doing much the same as I did at his age. Makes me proud.
With the shock cranked all the way up to 7 to handle the extra load, this FLSL is near its limits. He describes riding 2-up as "a loaded tour pack that moves." I have a feeling he'll be trading this in for some type of 'Glide when he gets a chance.

Eventually I want to upgrade the suspension on my LRS. If the rear shock's being replaced a lightened swinging arm makes sense. Reducing unsprung weight makes a big difference to suspension.

interesting , never had that issue. I don’t ride in the rain very often and I’m pretty careful when I wash my bike. I hardly use any water pressure to avoid water getting stuck in too many places
