Last night I helped the kid install a Mustang pillion seat and passenger pegs on the Slim. The latter were an early birthday present to him.

Actually, my role was more as a consultant, he did the actual work. My role in wrenching on that bike is becoming less and less with each mod; he's learning and doing much the same as I did at his age. Makes me proud.

With the shock cranked all the way up to 7 to handle the extra load, this FLSL is near its limits. He describes riding 2-up as "a loaded tour pack that moves." I have a feeling he'll be trading this in for some type of 'Glide when he gets a chance.

That's the right-side passenger peg.

Correct! He had them swapped and didn't notice until after taking the test ride. Easy enough to fix.

Not really today, but recently added trac aluminum swingarm and a lithium battery. Dropped close to 23-25 pounds it’s crazy. Few cosmetic changes too

And no more rusty water in your swinging arm..

Eventually I want to upgrade the suspension on my LRS. If the rear shock's being replaced a lightened swinging arm makes sense. Reducing unsprung weight makes a big difference to suspension.

Love those lithium batteries. Put one in my sportster recently, it cranks up like a rocket, first touch.

interesting , never had that issue. I don’t ride in the rain very often and I’m pretty careful when I wash my bike. I hardly use any water pressure to avoid water getting stuck in too many places

Helluva good looking bike. I really like what you've got going on there.
