What did you do to your 18+ softail today?

Eventually I’ll mock up my spring seat mount on my Street Bob. I was going to double check and see if the kits are any cheaper on HDs website but it appears that they don’t even sell them anymore for the 18+ bikes.
Guess I’ll bust out the cardboard and have the neighbor weld up a mount for me.

I think all is going to be good. The plan for tomorrow is to move the right hand side outboard by 1.2" using the S&S spacers, and then to move both sides back by 1". Fingers crossed it works out. it probably won't as I think I will need to source some 1/2" longer frame to bracket bolts and I won't be able to get those from any local hardware store tomorrow. But now I have a plan....
Then working on the brake side, I moved the peg back an inch and to avoid interference with the exhaust heat shield, I added the spacers (about 1/2") from the S&S brake pedal kit. It works, but it's not perfect as the Wunderkind controls have some sort of keying machined in between each bit. So the spacers won't fit snug where I want them to be as there is a wider "key" in the way. Not a problem, but long term I need to machine the inside of the spacers to fit the key and thus gain another 1/4" inboard movement. Just a little bit of lathe work which hopefully I can do on Tuesday while the bike is on the dyno. I have also ordered some longer M10 bolts. For the short term I reused the 3/8" UNC bolts from the S&S brake pedal kit. The threading is almost identical to M10, but not 100%. The new M10 bolts will be perfect, but won't arrive until Tuesday. Anyway, good enough for now. It all works well and the proof of concept is 100% good.
Bottom line is that with the Wunderkind controls in the rearmost position, the leg reach is just perfect for me. I still need to make some minor adjustments to the height of the gear and brake levers, but that's a job for tomorrow with a cold beer or two. Also very easy, given the adjustability built in.
Some crappy pictures below. Sorry for the dirty bike, but the weather has been kind of pants.
Left hand side
Here you can get an idea of the adjustability. The part on the front shelf by the three Allen bolts mounts the footpegs and can be rotated to mount the footpeg and brake lever an inch further back. The piece behind can also be rotated to give another inch either way.. So all in all there is 3" of adjustability to where the footpegs end up.
Brake side done. Ignore the T40 bolts at the bottom as they should really be black M10 bolts with a plastic bolt head cover. And they will be when new bolts arrive. You can just about make out the S&S spacer in this picture behind the T40 bolt
Another view.
Gearshift side.

Got the new Shinko SR999 tires installed today, OEM size up front, 180/65/16 in rear. Rode the 30 miles home in 32* weather and got splattered with a bit of snow so I have no idea how they really feel. Hopefully we get some warmer weather at the end of the month and I can see how they actually feel.

Then again, it might feel the same because my original was so worn down after 6200 miles that it may have been closer to the 25.21" in height...
I'll poke around a bit more and really look at it tomorrow, I also had about 4 layers on so I couldn't feel much of anything
