What did you do to your 18+ softail today?

Couple of things done to the wife's FXBBS. Got rid of that stupid, ugly *** plastic box under the tank. super easy job since the tank comes of so easy on the new bikes. Tucked the wires in the backbone and completely disconnected the USB connector. I can't imagine she'd ever use it anyway. I also added a CustomDynamics taillight to give her more visibility. It's retrofitted from a Breakout. Don't look at the pics too hard, seems like after all my caution it is a hair off center on the fender.
I tried to pull that fake empty box off mine when I did my tank lift, but I have ABS, and it leaves those big ABS lines exposed and not looking too good, so I put it back. Besides, you never know when you need that USB port to read your laptop while you're riding down the highway 😉
Actually, I just posted this to save the trouble for those with ABS. At least they won't get that clean look like you got.

Hey Grip - Does the USB port have any kind of water protection when you remove it from the plastic box? I would like to clean that area up, but am concerned exposing the USB port could be a bad idea. Not as much of a concern for your neck of the woods, but here in the PNW get caught in the rain more than we like to admit.

i rode home 35miles in a downpour a few weeks ago and my quad lock wireless charger was plugged into the usb port while charging my phone. Zero issues being soaked.

Off the back of the transmission - the same mounting points as the carbon emission canister
...obviously I'll have to see about mounting the carbon emission canister elsewhere - most likely off the lower section of this box.
Before anyone asks, the holes in the bottom are for drainage should I get caught in a downpour.
