Attempted to install forward controls on my '18 Low Rider and gave up for today. I'll post separately on why.

Looking good!

Your post made me curious about the origin of the name "sissy bar". I always thought it was for "sissy" as in afraid to fall off the bike (like "chicken strips" on tires).

According to Wikipedia, it comes from "sister bar". I like that definition much better.

FWIW, I've got one of the factory detachable bars on order, but came very close to the style you chose.

Planned a short ride to put the remaining 50 miles to get my bike to the 1000 mile service mark. The engine light came on 30 or so miles in, so I rode it directly to the dealer near home. Bike threw a bunch of codes. Dealer couldn't look at it right then, so left it there and Ubered it home. That was the easiest, but it still made me feel pretty crappy.

To make things better, I dragged out the other tagged bikes for quick rides. Rode the Busa, the GS1100e, and the wife's Sporty. Couldn't take the Dyna out because I'm in the middle of changing the exhaust.

New bars, new clutch cable, brake cable, 3 wire extensions, risers, clamp, grips, sissy bar, pad and engine guard. Now it feels more like my bike. Oh, and the gremlin bell my youngest bought for me.
