I picked my FLDE up from winter storage today. Had the suspension upgraded to Progressive springs and a 13.1" 465 shock, and added Southern Machine cast wheels and blackwall Dunlop AE tires. It was cold as hell, but I put on a few highway miles and county road miles that had some rough pavement just to test the suspension. Much smoother - still firm, but my butt never launched off the seat. It felt like the rubber never left the road, and cornered great. No front end brake dive, either. It appears to have been money well spent. I may fiddle with the shock settings after a few hundred miles to see if I can soften it a touch without losing the firm cornering.

Decided to remove bags from the FXLRS and keep as a hot rod instead with future FM kit next year when warranties up.
That said, picked up this today for the longer trips. Been eyeing up the reef blue for a while now
Gonna keep it under warranty for 5 years so gonna go the SE stage “?” route. So got a month or 2 to decide between 2 or 3 since I like the power low to mid. Leaning just 2. Gotta figure best exhaust route to go as well that won’t be obnoxious on long rides. Any suggestions appreciated.

They are both from H D as far as I could find out they are the only place you can get the flush mount cap for the left you can get lots of other ones for the right side and there are other places to get the one for the oil cooler many different designs.

Installed and test road my Touring seat for my Fat Boy today.
It uses the same mounting system as the solo seat I have, so I can swap between them with just 1 bolt.
The touring seat is a Saddlemen Explorer RS for the FLFB. I picked this seat because I believe it'd be the most fitting appearance wise to the fat chopper styling that I've been leaning into with my bike. It reminds me of an old lazy boy recliner. A bit like a fat version of those oldschool chopper seats.
It's already comfy right now, so I'm interested in how much more comfy it will be come over time when it breaks in.
