What did you do to your 18+ softail today?

So my rear fender under the sissybar post on the left side suddenly developed a chip in the paint without explanation.
I didnt have many options and it was flaking up so I knew it was going to get much worse if I didnt do anything about it.
So I grabbed a Stiletto red touch up kit and tried my hand at doing a touch up on paint.
TBH it looks like **** but at least now my expensive *** paint job wont be severely damaged, to the point of needing an entire repaint.
Ill figure out later if I wanna get it properly repaired or if it doesnt really matter since I always have that tall *** sissy bar on my bike.
I first ran to the store and grabbed some auto primer and slightly sanded down the area and made a scab of primer for the area to make sure it wouldnt flake off even more.
It saved the chip from getting bigger, and then the touch up paint ended dissolving the primer out.
After some effort, I managed to get a good coat onto the chip sealing it up.
Then finally, beacuse the paint didnt match at all, I made it look like a little rectangle that is less conspicuous.
Its not great but at least the paint is preserved and sealed from further damage.

Contact Color-X Labs (https://www.colorxlabs.com/) and see if they can help. I have ordered from them a couple of times and they matched my colors perfectly both times.

i pulled the fender trim and tried painting gloss black. I prepped and cleaned the trim, but the paint just kept wrinkling and looked horrible. Wet sanded and repainted and it’s better, but going to sand some more and spray again. Was planning on keeping fender emblem chrome to tie in with light bar.

Yeah - thanks for the idea. The seat is a C&C. I had a Corbin Gunfighter on my old Fatboy. Eventually cut it down to a solo, but the Corbin was always comfortable.

Finally got my hard bags and all the gloss black engine and transmission covers in and installed. Even with the manual, getting the rear rocker box cover is a PITA due to the wiring crammed between it and the frame. Other than that, not too bad. With the bike on the ground and leaned over on the kick stand, I only lost about 4-6ozs of fluid from the timing and tranny side cover in the process for anyone that’s wondering.
Also put on the Riot mini floor boards on since the fwd kit is too stretched out for me and the mids slightly cramped for longer rides. I just put them in the most fwd position of the three that allows me to move my feet back slightly for safe shifting and braking or move my heels out to the edge to stretch the legs out.
Still scratching my head on a 2 up seat though. So many choice for so many different riders. Uuuugh!
