Threw on some new bags and took the bike out for it's first ride of 2022. I was getting tired of lugging around a big backpack for my commute to work and for long rides so I picked up a set of LeatherPros Saddlebags. Pretty easy to install especially since they provide you with the necessary hardware and instructions if you have a sissy bar (rigid or detachable) or ever plan to get a sissy bar. I'm loving that nothing had to be relocated and they're easily detachable when I don't need them. I can go back to the classic "Slim" look of the bike in no time since the Memphis Shades bullet fairing is detachable too.

I went ahead and did the home made transmission cover vent. Other than getting access to bolts, job was very easy and parts are cheap. Even bolts were not a big deal, just takes a mini ratchet and some time. I did install a check valve from NAPA on the vent line. It’s gonna be 80 F here today, so about to go out and take it out for a ride.

On my old TC softail, I paid a lot of attention to the bike’s details, and when I got the Heritage, I was really surprised at the oil dipstick. Plastic handle just seemed cheap and out of place on the M8 engine. I found a few different dipsticks, but wanted a non-digital temp gauge. I found this one and liked the style, but many on here won’t want any part of it - it is made in China. It appears to be well made and screws in snug. Below is a little better pic on bike - I think it looks a lot nicer. These are available on eBay for around $60 and come with either a black or white face.

Like im not sure exactly what the use of a temp gauge is for the oil on my bike, but... now I want one.
