What did you do to your 18+ softail today?
#3011
Hello all, I am new to the forum, been lurking since I bought my new softail. About a week after the Harley launch I went down to the dealership and put down a deposit on a 21 Street bob FXBBS 114. They ordered me one and it arrived in early March. Since then I’ve added some small cosmetic changes with more on the way. Trying to play nice with my warrantee so I’m saving major performance upgrades for later.
current mods:
Vance & Hines slash cut slip ons
Arlen ness grips and shift peg
HD Sundowner two up seat
radiator cage mod
In postage:
LSS shorty levers
HD Tall rigid sissy bar
sitting in the queue:
LED lights with relocation to the forks
MX style Foot pegs
Arlen ness passenger pegs
Swing arm bag (I’ve got a sissy bar bag already)
rolling around in the head
New Bars- something thicker then stock to match forks, maybe 2” taller apes
Tuner- whichever proves reliable for the 21 models. Need to get rid of that speed limiter
Cam- stage 2 prefer torque over HP. Lots of research still to do here.
Cheers

The 22x comes in with power a lot lower rpm and is still the most recommended by builders. However the 22xe does give a good bit more torque after about 500 more rpms over the 22x. These cams totally take the competition hands down! Takes a 107 to 107hp/117 torque and it starts power at the bottom. Your 114 would easily lift off that front wheel once installed and tuned along with correct exhaust for correct back pressure. (May have to tune what ya have but very doable). M8s don't do well when they breath out too good.😡
PowerVision is truly only way to go as far as tuner if you buy from Fuel Moto. They sell for same price as others but will preload your tunes and or email you tuneses as you make changes. It is I believe 449.95 or something like that. But if you have a "good close" friend who already has the tuner HMI (human to machine interface, "small touchscreen and cable"), you can pay just $200 for a license to add your bike to his HMI
They have 1000s of tunes already and have free tech support for life once you purchase a license. They are quick to chat back and forth on email as well.

Extended brake pad works great
Installed the Kuryakyn brake pad, the one that's significantly wider than stock, the other day. Needed something wider because the HD Heavy Breather sticks WAY out and you have to twist your foot around the A/C to get good solid contact with the stock brake pad. Not good if you have to stop fast in an emergency.
Went for a 150-mile ride yesterday. Works like a dream, no more safety issue. Great investment for fifty bucks.

only 2 choices on torque cam and both are Woods cams (made by Andrew's to Woods spec) either the 22x or 22xe

I did that 1st thing well (pulled insulation) but always after riding my 08 Ultra Classic with the Vance & Hines longshots I would be aggravated when getting back on the M8 Neighbor Haters.
So pulled baffles back out and peeled of the fine screen that was wrapped on the baffle. This actually made me hear the bike much better at riding speeds. Not a massive change but noticeably it was and every bit worth the small effort.
