I need Help! My Street Bob 2019 Frame is bent from the bottom!
I had an accident where my chassis received a lot of damage from the bottom, i sent my bike to the same dealership where i bought the bike, i still have a year of warranty, the dealership told me that the chassis is very damaged, so they will ask the insurance company to replace my frame, but it is enough to be a totaled.
But i think the dealership made some buisness with the insurance beacuse suddenly they told me that the chassis is going to be "repaired" by an external tinsmith, ive been trying to prove my insurance that Harley Davidson doesn't repair chassis (I've heard that there is a policy for technicians) beacuse they are attempting to inject alluminum and weld a reinforcement, does somebody know where can i find that policy? (that Harley Davidson do not repair chassis) so i can prove my insurance that the frame must be replaced Thank you very much.

Sorry to hear about your bike. Hope you're ok. I was involved in an accident on my 2014 Road King last year. There was frame damaged. The steering stops had been bent or snapped off. My insurance company told me that Harley dealerships do not want the liability of repairing any frame damage. The cost of replacing the frame and all of the labor was enough to deem the bike a total loss. Even if they could repair it, it would have been months to get the parts. That is how I ended up on this forum. I took the insurance money and bought myself a 2018 Heritage 114. I normally don't give props to an insurance company, but Progressive was great to deal and gave me a payout that was very fair after adding in the accessory coverage for all that I had added to the bike.
I do not know of anything specific that HD and the insurance companies have worked out on dealing with frame damage. I only know that mine was a considered a total loss because of the frame damage and I was told that many repair shops would try to fix it. You are in a tough situation because getting parts now may be more difficult than last year! Good Luck!

Bro thank you a lot, i hope you are doing good! I appreciate it, my dealer said that it was a total loss, but when they received money from the insurance, they changed their minds
