Any before and after measurements / pictures for the results?

I swapped a heritage shock into my Low Rider, because it is too low in the rear, not enough ground clearance when you are on the very edge of the back tire. And it doesn't have enough travel to ride comfortably. But we still have too much snow to take it out, so I can't report on the results yet. It just started snowing again as I look out the window.

From what I can gather, there is the 12.5" stock in the "low" softails, 13.1" stock in Fat Bob and Heritage, and a 13.5" can be found in the aftermarket. Not a ton more travel, but when you're starting with so little a tiny bit is a big improvement.

I thought the shock was simply physically longer only. I didn't know that equated to more travel. Where did you get travel specs? I know when I looked at Ohlins Dyna shocks, shock length didn't change actual travel between shocks of the same model. For Ohlins shocks at least?

The travel on the longer shock is almost an additional 1" at the rear wheel. It's hard to find the wheel travel specs published, but I did find them at one point.

Default New Luggage Rack and Tour Pack

Motherwell rack and San Diego Customs bar bag.
Another useless post, working on my camera skills, waiting for warm weather.

I'll have a chance to get some road time in tomorrow afternoon. The shock gave me an extra inch of rear wheel travel. Main reason for the swap was for comfort. Fringe benefits are extra ground clearance and maybe better steering geometry.

Initial impressions setting on it in the garage are good. Saddle height doesn't feel very different.

I'll get some pictures from the job posted eventually. Both the shock body and spring are longer.

. U hear ya Brutha! It cant get warm soon enuff! Ohio. I don't recall, what month did you buy your new bike? I got mine really late October, and got very few miles in b4 the crap weather. Really haven't even got to know the bike. Did lil things here and there to pass the time. The lil rack looks great! Prolly quick and easy on and off? Was there a piece of clear protective tape under the pass seat? Mine did, I peeled it off. Hope it wasn't a mistake! Lil decieving, could ya get a sixer in that bag? Looks real nice.
