I tell every new passenger I take
- Keep your feet on the footpegs. If you take them off, it means you're getting off the bike. (kind of a threat ;-)
- Hold onto me. I'm the only thing here going the same speed as you.
- Lean with me. Don't try to steer the bike, just keep in line with me.
- If we're stopping really hard, slide your hands forward and up onto the tank and press there. I then have them practice once.

Took my Heritage through Yosemite last week. Amazing area. The 120 through Yosemite and 108 through Stanislaus Forest are highly recommended.
105 degrees on the 395/14 loaded with my son on the back for 5 hours doing 90+ never skipped a beat. Ice cubes wrapped in kerchiefs on the back of necks got us through. Beautiful area.
