I'm loving this bike. There's just something about riding a motorcycle that feels more natural and inherent than driving a car to me.

Fran, That is because you were one of the "Smart Ones" that bought a Red Fatboy.
20% better handling and 25% faster than all the other colors.

The Factory Techs did not publish that because they did not have enough Red for the volume of orders they would get if that was public knowledge.

To be fair... I had no intention of looking for a specifically red bike... though I fully intended on vinyl wrapping it into a red bike...
Ended up with a wild red bike anyways...
Funny how that works.

Sidenote, I checked the oil on my bike just minutes after I got back from a long *** ride, so it was still pretty hot, and discovered the previous owner had way overfilled the bike with oil.
There were tiny bubbles visible in the fill spout.
After double checking it became obvious why it was so overfilled. The idiot measured the oil without twisting the dipstick all the way in, even though it's written right on the dipstick to twist it in for measuring. They filled it to where the hot level marker is if you just set the dipstick on the fill port without twisting it in.
Perfectly measured for that mistake, so I at least know the bike is not burning oil.
So now I gotta remove a fair amount of oil from the bike.

A Turkey baster works great for that with a rubber hose added to reach in.... It's near Thanksgiving so grab it from your wife/girlfriend....lol

Ok. I know we've had this conversation buried in here somewhere but I'm ready for a new rear tire. I got the Metzler Cruistec for the front and now I need the rear.... What do we say on the size... 240/40 or 260/40? If I go with the 260 does it fit with no issues at all? Anyone got pics of their 260?

Thanks,
Steve

260 will work fine on stock wheel. I have a Metzler 260 on a slightly wider wheel (8.5) with no issues on clearance.

260/40 R18 will fit on the stock FLFBS rear rim. It will be more aggressively profiled however.
Go with a 240 if you want to maintain the handling you're used to.
