Strange looks to have chrome rocker covers.primary/cam covers, but says satin finish cam cover on blurb in fatty section HD site?

 

Well when waiting is all you can do, patience is all you can have.
Silver lining though is that at least there was plenty of time to do research for parts, and see what people got and how they liked it.
Lots of time to ask questions from people who actually have ran parts or know how things perform and look.
Like for example, 24v blowing up his lowrider's stock compensator with the 22X cam I was lookin at. That lead to me lookin up a whole bunch of stuff about performance upgrades and durability I didn't even consider before.

They didnt swap the close up image of the engine to the 21's on the fat boy's page.
But if you check the video you can see they shiny chromed out the cam cover, and put a black timer cover on it.

 

If you do buy a Fat Boy 114....make sure it is a 2020. It has the updated oil pump.

 

If I do get one thats not a 2020, I'm going to be putting the SnS Oilpump and camplate combo B Version with the 2020 seal in it.
I found a place where I can get it for 620bucks.

 

I’d swap every bit of satin on my 18 for the shiny chrome...open offer to anyone interested. Heat shields are painted black but the rest is all original and in fine condition

 

After about 3 weeks of ownership, it has become this, I foresee small changes, mainly to the wheels and cosmetic.

 

Aloha, I've had my bike about a month and the most annoying thing is the gas cap buzzes and rattles ( I'm think a rubber O ring could solve this.) Anyone else dealt with this?
I'm also interested in what sissy bar bags you guys like on this bike. I don't want a wide profile, or something really big .and leather doesn't fare well here in Hawaii. I just need to be able to carry groceries home for the wife ( excuse to ride to the store

I don’t have any bags on mine so I’m no help there. As far as the gas cap rattle, I just slid a couple pieces of cardboard from a case of beer in between the metal of the cap and plastic underneath. That was over a year ago. Good luck.

 

Updated the derby and timing covers on my 2019. I was unsure about the dark background with the satin primary but once it is on I like the contrast.

 

What does your new Timing cover look like?
