100% myth. At first I thought I felt a difference, but honestly the wind affected me so much more on my old KLR650 with wire wheels than it does on the Fat Boy. Skinny 17" and 21" wheels (even though they had spokes) caused me to get blown around crossing bridges every time. I've gone across the Benicia bridge in the CA Bay Area dozens of times in high wind and the Fat Boy just doesn't care. Lower to the ground, huge wheels with double the surface area for traction.. Even with the solid wheels it's super planted in high cross winds.

Would you guys happen to know the size of the fork tube caps on the fat boy?
Are they 49mm or 39mm?

Mine measure 49mm, assuming you're referring to the threads. I didn't measure the hex nut.

yeah I'm looking at the fork tubes. Speed Merchant makes a pre-load adjuster for HD 39mm and 49mm fork tubes.
I was pretty sure the Fat Boy has 49mm, but I wanted to doublecheck.

Thanks for the pics @andres.0321@hotmail.com Stuff like this is super useful.
If I get the pathfinder version of these bars I'll definitely get the wider base bar instead.

How much clearance is there between the bottom of the bar and fork top?(not including the cap).
Also I'm assuming you can but you can place the bottom bar clamp bolts facing outward and inward correct?
It doesn't matter the direction it's facing?

You’re welcome, the base bar comes in several widths, I choose the smaller version because I preferred te look. I’ll have to measure the gap between the clamping bar and top of the tree. The clamping bar goes on in one direction, bolts will face outward.
