Bought myself a Saddleman Renegade Solo Studded Seat (from the OEM Cycle Shop on eBay) which turned up today
Super excited I went into the garage this evening, unpacked it and tried to fit it
...only to find that I hadn't realised how it was mounted, that is, it's a generic softail seat which comes with an alternative Y bracket for mounting to the fender, which means, with the seat fitted, I can't:
fit/mount the backrest.
fit/mount the rack.
At this point I gave up

Looks like I may have to get creative.
This is one of the reasons I went with the Knuckle Profile Seat instead of a single space solo seat.
Because the profile and Step Up and other solo seats that bolt to the 1 bolt in the back let you swap seats to whatever seat I need in a minute.
I swap to my Solo seat to go tear up twisties, bike night, and other things where looking cool as **** and being able to have movement freedom is needed.
When I'm touring, riding 2 up, or need to run cargo, I put the touring seat on the bike.
I'd ask saddlemen if they can do a knuckle profile seat with black leather and studs on the band or sides or see if they'll let you submit a studding pattern.
So I've managed to fit my Saddleman seat with the backrest.
It was either the backrest or the luggage rack but not both.
I could have cut the center bracket section of the luggage rack to accommodate the Saddleman seat bracket but didn't really want to do that - I might, in the future, see if I can pick up a cheap luggage rack that I can have a play with.
Therefore, having looked at, and played around with, several ideas, the only way I was able to do it was as follows...
I removed the bracket from the Saddleman seat.
I didn't use the supplied Y bracket.
I used the spacers supplied with the Saddleman bracket and then mounted the backrest bracket (with the backrest cushion removed).
I then installed the seat at the front mounting, forced the backrest back and squeezed the seat into position then released the force from the backrest which in turn held the rear of the seat in place.
I then installed the backrest cushion.
There's no forward or lateral movement of the seat at all - even with me shifting my weight around - the seat isn't going anywhere.
Once I had worked all this out, I customised the backrest pad cover with some studs and fabricated, out of an old leather belt, a protective cover for the buckles on the rear blanket roll holder because, the way it mounts means that the buckles rest on the fender.
Finished off a couple of other things and the bike is now ready for the Wild West themed Classic, Custom and American show at the end of the month.
I think yall'd apperciate my bike fully loaded up for 2 up tour riding without saddlebags haha.
Plus my gf posing, lol.
1050lbs total weight full tank of gas.

hi @Urban Gorilla, I like your rear brake pedal setup.
my FB has a turbine style air cleaner and now my knee hits it when I brake.
What type of pedal assy is it? Looks like an extra large pedal pad?

That is a SoftBrake extended brake pedal lever with the Wille G brake pedal pad from HD.

brake pedal. This editor didn't do what I expected!
But hey it must be a common issue with FBs as knee clearance is tight . .
Lets pose the question to all, what have you found to be effective?

Any tendency to do unexpected wheelies with all that weight at the rear?

As a follow-up...
I have found/bought a luggage rack that, by the way it mounts under the seat, may well work.
I've also bought a rear fender bib to continue the studded theme and protect the fender from the blanket roll straps.
