Everything 2018 FatBoy thread
#1491
Well I think (!) .... I have everything I want for my 2023 Fat Boy Anniversary. I'll add pictures when I pick up bike this weekend.
It's in shop right now for the 1K service and Stage 1 (VH Eliminator 300s slip-ons) and 2 (torque cam).
Have a windshield, sissy bar/backrest for wife, Saddlemen Explorer (so much better than stock!), moustache engine guard, swing arm bag.
Only thing I am a little annoyed by is I wanted to do the VH Big Shots, but the exhaust didn't fit. VH website says they do, and the initial guy the dealer and I talked to on the phone said it showed it would fit. A little more digging though, we found the exhaust won't on the newer FB. I remember seeing someone else post about Big Shots not fitting their FB.

Bassani Pro Street Turn outs: https://www.fuelmotousa.com/i-238972...ch-18-sft.html
FUELPASS for their discount code.
If you're like me and ok with Slip-Ons, I recommend you head over to DKCustom, and get a pair of 118W Thunder Torque Inserts and install them into the baffle of the Eliminator 300s.
Use the very last hole of the baffle perforation as a guide for where you need to drill the hole in the baffle.
Those Slip-ons are straight through so they have reversion issues which will lose you low end torque. The TTIs fix that.
I have this setup on my bike right now.

yeah man...it's pretty substantial!
(...but if the Air Ride fails at least my a$$ is covered)
Fitted my new backrest
Along with the Easy Brackets mounting kit (purchased from Finn Moto, Australia) allowing me to easily and quickly fit and remove my saddlebags.

Nice !
I'm planning to do the same upcoming winter, I would say, buy enough bondo because I personally think that is the only drawback to the TB metal fenders.
I speak from experience, I have already done a conversion with such a fender from TB on my Breakout.

Sold my 2018 fat boy. Just couldn't get comfortable on it. I also refuse to do business with any company that fails to stand behind their product. Right side tire wear is brutal on these bikes and problem still not addressed after 6 years. Time to move on to something else. Keep the shiny side up.
