good to see that your inside is not rusting. when i pulled the fender on my fatboy to change the tag location i saw some rust on the inside of the rear fender. its like they didnt paint it all the way around. not sure what i will do to it. most likely good under coating will do the trick
If I buy a new bike the first thing I do is take off the fenders and coat them on the inside with a Bitumen Underbodycoating. On my FXFBS
Prepping the FXBB fender
I was thinking about doing something like this for Rayearth's fenders.
There's a painter out in my area that I might be able to re-clear my bike's fenders and tank, and I was thinking afterwards to truck bed liner on the bottom to protect it for life.
I've been doing durability upgrade stuff to my bike and have been thinking about paint protection choices.
I undercoat the fenders too, they hardly put any paint on these things at all. And as for the fenders, that stupid lip they do is sharp so paint is never going to stick to it at the best of times.
If they bent your fender that much did you manage to get it back into shape? ...I would have thought the paint would have cracked on the top as well as just the lip ...mind you, the last 2 bikes I had got chips in exactly that point and then the water, then rust gets in. I use PPF on the leading edge. It is noticeable, but a lot nicer than rust bubbling under the paint
The main thing that I'm having done is getting the Wheels painted - the inserts to be specific.
The wheels should look like this when done Picture was painstakingly edited using MS Paint.
At the same occasion I'll be painting (Gloss Black) the inner part of the brake discs and belt drive pulley.
However, I've been acquiring parts to do a bit of a cosmetic makeover, which I've already had some parts painted:
Rick's Motorcycles Steel Front Fender (Gloss Black)
OEM rear fender and fender rails (Gloss Black)
Lumitecs TX1 LED turn signals with rear and brake light
LED Motorcycle Rear Fender Brake Tail Light
OEM wiring connections, pins and colour coded wiring
Savage Rear Number Plate Tidy
Highway Hawk Chrome Motorcycle Number Plate Holder Surround
Red Number Plate Reflector Bolts
I'll also be installing the following:
DK Customs Passenger Footpeg adapters
Kuryakyn Zombie Passenger Pegs
DK Customs, Rider Floorboard Relocation
H-D Gloss Black Inner Shift Rod Lever
Kuryakyn Zombie Gear Shift Linkage
SoftBrake Extended Shift Lever
Kuryakyn Zombie Gear Shift Peg
SoftBrake Extended Brake Pedal
Kuryakyn Zombie Brake Pedal Pad
Thunderbike Rear Axle Cover Set
Thunderbike Left & Right Side Swingarm Axle Covers
WillyShine Front Axle Cover Set
Gloss Black Belt Guard
I'm also looking at some Gloss Black Engine Covers and a chrome forks front end.
Somewhere in the timeframe, I'll be getting the secondhand Tank I have lined and painted (I already have another complete Fuel Pump Assembly).
Plus some custom paint work on the tank console.
Later on down the line I have a Stage 1 kit to install consisting of:
Vance & Hines Staggered Shortshots with Thunder Torque Inserts (TTI-158)
Vance & Hines V02 X Air Intake Black Contrast with DK Customs, Premium Catch Can EBS Breather System
Vance & Hines FP4
Screamin’ Eagle 55mm Intake Manifold
Screamin’ Eagle Performance Spark Plugs
Twin Power Ignition Coil
DK Customs, 409 Pro Race Black Spark Plug Wires
BUT, before I do this, I want to get on a Dyno and get a base map.

I really wish I could pick up the motivation to work more on my bike and get it finished. The cold saps it out of me.
So in the meantime... dumb video time haha.
I still have so much to do.

Interesting concept for the wheels...I do not like the stock look either:
