How did you drill without getting shavings all over in the tank?

I removed the tank from the bike, removed the fuel pump and then drilled, I first taped the filler opening at the bottom and inserted a magnet. The hole is also only 5mm in size and not immediately
drilled through but step by step, this way there were very few shavings. On the inside I didn't even get it a single shaving out, but I've been blowing it like crazy with the compressor .

On the FXFBS page on FB there are several that even just drill it on the bike with gas in the tank, I didn't want to risk that.

Anyone replace the headlight on their 2018+ Fatty? I am thinking about going with a Black one but I want to know if anyone has done so and if so how difficult it was....I do not have a Service Manual.

Do you mean headlight or the headlight assembly.

A Harley service manual should be one of the first purchases.

Just the headlight. And I would have very little use for the Service Manual since I cannot do my own work, other than very simple things, which I hope replacing the headlight is!

The Service Manual is cheap I think I got all 3 for around $15 on line which are for all 2018 soft tail modes. I downloaded them then printed them off just so I could have a hard copy. That was the service manual, the electrical diagnostic manual and the wiring diagrams. You never know ya just might find yourself doing more on the bike then you ever thought of doing before.

I got all 3 copies of mine for free and just keep them on my laptop, and use my laptop as my "shop manual."

Dam, you got money.

Are you able to see with ur mirrors that way?

You need to change your Derby and Timing covers.
Don't know about all that.

Yes.

I like the 30th anniversary covers.

See if this helps changing the headlight. He uses an LED, but changing to a different headlight should be the same as long as it 7".

I'm thinking about getting a crown cut rotor for my bike with gold pads to upgrade the front brake's stopping power.
I'd sure like to know all the details of what and how you did this to your Fat Boy. I love this look. The one thing I don't like about my 20 Fat Boy is that big, blocky rear fender. IMO it just doesn't look right with the nice rounded, bulbous shape of the tank (which I like).

I'm looking forward to knowing what all you did to get this look.

Bill
