The Low Rider is the most comfortable Dyna I've ever ridden. I love the buckhorn bars, but at the same time I can see switching to those Street Slammers.
Yes, I know the Low Rider is now a softail. I rode one when it was still a Dyna and I rode one when it became a softail. I couldn't tell much differerence. Great bike. It could be my next HD.

No matter what you do to a Low Rider S it's not as as comfortable as the M8 Low Rider.

I agree that the FXLR is more comfortable than the FXLR-S; the M8-107 engine with the Stage 1 upgrade is all I need since I only ride solo. I hope my 2019 lasts forever. I customized it for fitment (I have short legs and arms)--the suspension (primarily to get rid of the excessive brake dive and lower the rear 1"), installed the 4" HD pull-back riser, and replaced the HD OEM seat because I only ride solo and it wasn't comfortable.
TIP for Old Riders. I also installed the HD cruise control to help me with relief from my arthritis in the knuckles in my hands in the winter.

You'll Love It--Looks Nice
Works flawlessly, maintains a constant speed once set, and releases ASAP if brakes or clutch are applied. My only warning is that it is touchy to set, but once you get the feel it isn't a problem. Consider installing the extended turn signal tabs while you are at it.
Looks like it belongs.

Wait, I had to come back to read this again. How is it that the FXLR feels different from the FXLRS in terms of comfort? If you put the FXLR seat on the FXLRS, it's the same bike from a rider-triangle perspective....isn't it?

Not sure if that's the only thing. I remember loving the handlebars on the FXLR, which is weird because I'm an ape-hanger man. I hated the bars on the FXLRS.
