Curiosity
My questions would be: Does this happen with a Full tank only or with the fuel at other levels also? Hot fuel in a tightly closed full tank can expand and build up presure to a point where it may force vapors out through the tank cap. It would not take much vapor smell to permiate the space of a closed garage. As a past Volunteer Fire Fighter in NY, I have seen gas forced out of a vehicle gas tank when recently filled to the brim and than parked in a hot garage. A desaster in the making.
Just something you might want to try. After retuning from a ride but before parking in a closed garage, open the gas cap for a few moments to relieve any built up pressure in the tank. Then, after parking the bike in the closed garage, check it again in a while to see if the gas smell is still there. If no smell, it might be that your gas cap is not maintaining its seal under pressure. It may also bepossible that the vapor valve they replaced is actually doing its job releasing presure in the tank allowing vapors to escape.

Fuel level does not matter. Bike has less than 50 to empty right now.... At first I thought it was the fuel cap because I changed it from stock so I put the stock one back on. Changed nothing.
I feel you are on the right track FrankEV because I also think it is a leak down issue with the tank. Of course I thought that replacing the part they replaced would cure the issue but I see what you are saying and I will try it today.
I will be calling the service department Tuesday morning.
Thanks for your thoughts guys

I only get the gas smell coming back after riding while the engine is still hot. When bike cools down after a couple of hours gas smell goes away. I believe this goes along with what Frank was saying. Also 9 out of 10 times I will always fill the gas tank before putting in the garage after a ride.
Cheers

My Heritage 114 reeked of gas when parked in the garage. When I took it in for 1st service, dealer said they couldn't find anything wrong. Still did it when I got home. When I took it back to have the cam put in, I mentioned it again and apparently they tore things down enough to tighten anywhere it might conceivably leak, but didn't find the cause.
Hasn't done it since.
So, neither I or the dealer knew what fixed it. But they did.
Good luck.

Took the Bags, rear seat and backrest and Windscreen off today to see how it looks. The stock bars a bit to small, kinda like a T-Rex with small arms. LOL I would say if your going to go for this look prob a thicker handlebar would be in order. If you kept the same size, would any new wires or hoses need to be bought? I put back on the Windscreen as the wind noise by my ears was more then I liked.

That’s a nice looking bike. I like the way it looks all naked. It’s nice having a bike that’s so alterable. I don’t know much but I don’t see why the same wires wouldn’t work if you’re just replacing the bar with a thinker one. I wonder if you would have to change the switch housing.
What kind of seat is that?
