So you have to keep the passenger pegs for the bags??? I remember a long bar going somewhere…

Talking of the rear foot rests, I fitted the stock Heritage Classic rear footrests to my Deluxe, had them on for five years, never took anyone on the back so removed them. (More about this later)
Option 1 to improve the look.
What I did notice was from the factory the foot rests, when up, sit vertical and out of line with the swingarm mount part of the frame, you can loosen them and move them slightly to have them sit in line with the frame rather than vertical, this helps the aesthetics but has no real difference in their use when down!
Option 2 Remove the rear foot rests
When I removed the rear foot rest mounts, I noticed they had marked the finish on the frame, so I basically put in their place a large black alloy cup washer and a short 3/8" -16 countersunk screw, easily removed if you want to re-install the foot rests.
What I actually used was a TEC Bike part for a Triumph Bonneville that is actually for the same task of covering a rear foot rest mount when removed. I already had these, they were the right shape, colour and diameter to cover the marks, all I had to do was open out the center hole to get a 3/8" screw clearance, I'm sure there are plenty of other similar cup washers available!
Just in case you may think these are wider than the footrest mount and make another mark they are actually stepped on the inside so are around the same diameter on the contact face!

Stinkerbill,
The bike looks incredible; great job man!
2 quick questions:
1. Did you powder coat those cocktail shaker mufflers cus all I’m seeing is chrome ones out there?
2. What yr of Soltail Slim did the tank bib come from? I just took the OEM off of mine and wanted something simpler!
thanks ride safe

Yeah I had chrome silencers ceramic coated satin black (not powder coat) - the pair of silencers was £120 (came with baffles), the ceramic coating was about £140, so £260 all up... plus gaskets
The Bib was off a 2019 softail slim - Part No. 61400413

(Re-posting from other thread)
Couldn't resist taking a few quick snaps today, now that it's (almost) complete...
Mods/extras so far...
Yet to tackle the air-cleaner cover - I hate it... looks kinda plastic and modern.. gonna try some chrome/silver pinstriping tape to give the insert a 'finned' look to match the other covers/cylinders... will report back on progress.
The seat is going to the upholsterer tomorrow to have an new plain panel sewn on where I took the studded one off (was a very easy to to unpick and remove it) and I'm also collecting the front-facing brackets for the screen that I've had painted gloss black.
She's almost there.

- New paint, including custom tank logos which I designed - Was aiming for a 1945, WLA-US Navy style grey... this is Land Rover Arroios Grey, which is the closest colour I could find - not as 'dead' looking as Nardo and a touch lighter too
- HD Black exhaust heat shields
- Ceramic coated black 'cocktail shaker' exhausts (universal fit - had to make up some small brackets and baffles)
- Light visors, all round
- 'stud removal' underway on seat
- Drag Specialities beach bars (so comfy, I now leave the Grasshopper backrest at home)
- Softail Slim tank bib
- Motherwell style (but WAY cheaper) luggage rack
- HD finned timer and primary covers
- HD swing-arm bag
- Engine crash bars
- Fork nut covers
- Silver/Chrome round retro mirrors
