Here's my new '23 120th Anniversary Edition, joining the one posted a few days ago. SO FAR, have added the Cobra El Diablo 2-into-1 exhaust, H-D standard engine guard, H-D Chrome/Rubber Grips, H-D fangs (requires drilling a new hole and slotting it out - still nudges the Engine guard at full bar lock), Extended Heel Shifter, Kuryakyn curved/laydown license plate holder. Got to get a new seat with a rider backrest next. Then, if Hogworkz thinks they will fit with the Cobra exhaust, want to convert over to the hard touring bags, probably in White to mimic the 2 Harley Icon Electra Glide models.

At age 78, this will likely be my last H-D, although I am pretty tempted by the new '24 Street Glide, but the Heritage is so manageable at my age and 5'10" / 152 lbs size. Never say Never though, I've learned. If anybody has done the Hogworkz (or other) bag conversion, I'd be interested in your opinions about how the install & fitment is.

Love it! I also love what you have done to it!

If anyone might be interested, have some takeoffs available, open to offers. Complete stock exhaust (minus the head flanges and O2 sensors, which were re-used with the new 2-into-1), Heel Shifter shaft (no peg, re-used), stock License Plate holder. Posting in Classifieds - Softail.

(Re-posting from other thread)

Couldn't resist taking a few quick snaps today, now that it's (almost) complete...

Mods/extras so far...
  • New paint, including custom tank logos which I designed - Was aiming for a 1945, WLA-US Navy style grey... this is Land Rover Arroios Grey, which is the closest colour I could find - not as 'dead' looking as Nardo and a touch lighter too
  • HD Black exhaust heat shields
  • Ceramic coated black 'cocktail shaker' exhausts (universal fit - had to make up some small brackets and baffles)
  • Light visors, all round
  • 'stud removal' underway on seat
  • Drag Specialities beach bars (so comfy, I now leave the Grasshopper backrest at home)
  • Softail Slim tank bib
  • Motherwell style (but WAY cheaper) luggage rack
  • HD finned timer and primary covers
  • HD swing-arm bag
  • Engine crash bars
  • Fork nut covers
  • Silver/Chrome round retro mirrors

Yet to tackle the air-cleaner cover - I hate it... looks kinda plastic and modern.. gonna try some chrome/silver pinstriping tape to give the insert a 'finned' look to match the other covers/cylinders... will report back on progress.

The seat is going to the upholsterer tomorrow to have an new plain panel sewn on where I took the studded one off (was a very easy to to unpick and remove it) and I'm also collecting the front-facing brackets for the screen that I've had painted gloss black.

She's almost there.

And just finished adding some pinstriping to the air cleaner trim, which worked out pretty well...

Stock seat - I've just unpicked the 'skirt' with the black studs embedded in it - the seat is currently at the upholsterer having a plain panel stitched in it's place - I'll post pics once done

Looks great! A suggestion: if you only ride solo, ditch the passenger pegs. The Moco put no thought into the aesthetics of those. And maybe fill the empty bolt holes where the bags mount. Regardless, she's a beaut! The custom color and tank graphics look very classy.

Thanks

I do occasionally ride with a passenger and use the bags too, so both things need to stay

Right on! To me, those passenger pegs just stick out like a sore thumb. I occasionally have a passenger as well, so I needed something to take my focus off those abominations. If you're interested, I found shorter black passenger peg mounts from IMZZ Elite, and some black ISO passenger pegs from ebay, which together blend in better than the stockers, IMO.
