RE your windshield, check out ClearView Windshields. They are made out of a thicker gage plex and you can order a 5 position vent if you desire.
I prefer the all clear windshield, they do offer half blacked out too.
Mine is their GT with top curve .

Morish what height windshield did you go with?

Any input would be appreciated.
I test rode mine in 102 degree heat in San Jose, Ca in and out of heavy traffic . I have had a lot of bikes so hot I could not ride them in hot weather , this flhcs 114 has no heat issues at all!

I went with the 16.5 GT reverse curve. The wind starts hitting the top of my helmet which I wanted. the top vent of my helmet is exposed to the wind for Ventilation.
Hope this helps.

I’m in total agreement re no heat issues with the 114 Heritage. I purchased a new 2019 Heritage 114 and what a difference from my 2014 with the 103 steam engine.
The 114 runs much cooler and you’ll love the torque from the 114. I live in North Carolina and it gets hot with the humidity too.
Don't hesitate GET IT.

I am about 5’10” and see over the stock windshield by a couple of inches. Are you close to this and did you see over the stock one like me?

I’m 6’ and I did see over the stock windshield. What’s great about the reverse curve windshield, it can be 2 ‘’ lower than stock and still give you the same or a little better protection than stock. I will say, if you ride 2 up, you might want to consider ClearView 18’’ or higher windshield to give more protection to your passenger. I ride 90% solo thats why I went with the 16.5 ‘’. This is my second windshield from ClearView, I had the same windshield on my 2014 Heritage.
Hope this helps

I just put the stock windshield against my CV GT 16.5. The yellow tape on the sides showed the extra width over stock and the top yellow tape shows the stock windshield was taller.

Thanks that helps a lot. I ride solo most of the time so I’m thinking the 16.5 should be fine.
One more question, do you find that the vent in the windshield is helpful?
Thanks

Yes, it’s not a mass amount of air that hits you but you can feel the difference.
Putting my hand in front of it, you can definitely feel the air but by the time the air reaches your body it has fanned out.
I live in North Carolina and during the summer months it gets hot with the humidity. So the way I look at it, any extra air flow can’t hurt. 🥵
