With a few full on tourers thrown in for good measure, my motorcycle history is mainly naked, sport, and adventure bikes. I wear a full face helmet unless it it incredibly hot and then it’s a half helmet. I have never experienced excessive buffeting on my Heritage. Including on 3,500 mile rides. I think it all comes down to what one considers ‘excessive’.

I am a proud owner of a 2018 Heritage 114. Love the bike. My only issue with it is a belt whine noise. It happens more when riding 2-up, when the bike is hot, and in 2nd and 3rd gear, cruising or decelerating. Almost as if the belt is too tight. Anyone else with the issue?

I've taken it to the dealer twice and they look at me like I have three heads and don't have an answer or seem to care. It is quite loud. They could not replicate the sound. Typical.

I have read about and heard this from others. For me, no belt whine riding solo or two up. I wonder if adjusting the rear suspension would help you out.

The engine has a whine on my Heritage 114. Haven't noticed a belt whine. Have you personally checked the adjustment.? Go by what your owners manual says. There are 2 specs one for a new belt and one for a service belt . My bike has 5000 miles so I go by the service belt spec which is a looser adjustment. I wouldn't trust a tech to adjust mine, but that's just me.

I did try that and it helped a little. The noise is still there.

I will note that the belt tension checks out perfect when measured with the gauge.

Try some belt dressing.

Humidity and temperature might have something to do with it too, that's generally with older belts though like with cars; all are still rubber though so just shooting in the wind here....

Does anyone have the S&S Grand National slip-ons? With the db reducers? I've scheduled a test ride this sunday on the Heritage 107. Currently riding a '17 Lowrider S. Already looking at the various upgrades for the Heritage. Never heard a word about the S&S GN's.

I've got them on a Fat Bob, not on a Heritage. Happy with 'em.
