Thinking of doing the power package from FM, only concern is I see on their website that if you use their kit and keep the stock a/c cover the ugly plastic shroud that fits behind the cover is still used. I want to use the kit but lose the plastic shroud. Has anyone done that? Can you do that?

 

The plastic shroud is not used it is replaced by the new billet backing plate that has additional openings in it for more air volume.

 

You do not retain the factory plastic backing plate. FM supplies you with their billet powdercoated backing plate that is supposed to be used with their air cleaner kit.

 

The coating on the metal backing plate of the fuelmoto air cleaner makes it look somewhat like plastic in the pictures. It's a solid piece of aluminum. 68beep's picture is exactly what you get. It fits perfectly, they did their homework.

I have one, very nice and lower profile than stock.
Not sure who makes it but it's the same as Zippers Performance, ordered mine from Iron Aces Speed Shop, came with Zippers Instructions and cheaper because they ship free.
