I just installed Kuryakyn Crusher Mellow slip ons on a 2014 Street Glide and really like the deeper, quieter sound. I had some Vance & Hines, but thought it was too loud for touring. The Crusher Mellows sound deeper than stock, but have a better baffle system (you can see daylight at end of pipe). Even w/reg. crusher, Kuryakyn uses a stainless wrap to lower the sound. Very happy with fit/finish of the product. Best of all, no drone on the freeway!

Which Vance & Hines did you have, they make dozens. Some loud, some not and their website beaks them down by category. What you describe with the Kuryakyn is what I got with my V&H Monster Ovals.... low growl, not too loud. More than a few people have found that if they also went to non-stock headers when they changed mufflers that they ended up actually putting their stock mufflers back on to get what they wanted sound wise. I'm guessing that you also went to aftermarket headers when you put the V&H Whatevers on?

Fmgsr..... yes they are very close to stock w/deep rumble. Very tame. The Vance Hines I had were the $400 Twin Slash - which not super loud per se, but have a drone jack hammer feel at 2800-2900 RPM that gave me a headache. Logical, I think the Monster Ovals are also pretty good choice, but liked the stainless packing on the Kuryakyn which don't break down over time.
