You wouldn't even know about it if you didn't check yourself.
Sorry never accepted ignorance is bliss as a life strategy. The legal hoops a company has to go through on recalls takes time. Harley gave us a website to check for ourselves, and this forum.
Less than an hour, I was on my merry way, recall complete.
Very interesting as my dealer stated that the actual instructions regarding the repair would not arrive until Monday. I assume that this meant that the MOCO did not want the repair completed until instructions were received.
I have 5,200 miles on my 14 Ultra Ltd, and had the first clutch recall fixed befor I picked up the ride last November.
I too wonder about having the clutch go while riding, especially in the kind of traffic where the ride could buck into other moving vehicles.
Yet, I have had not trouble with the clutch up to today. What's a guy to do? No fun riding if we are going to worry about it, and no fun not riding.
I'll ride mine with a heighten level of awareness of the possibility of a clutch failure. Waiting for my dealer to receive thier parts and then will have the work performed. If Harley was that concerned they would have sent an email to every own and strongly recommend they park their bikes and recommended that we have them picked up for repair.
Just my thoughts on the ride or not to ride question
Broken bikes are not lined up at the dealer with a clutch problem. Mine is probably going to be a couple weeks before its in the shop. I choose to ride.
