Default 2014 Clutch Master Cylinder Recall

Thought I'd drop by the Rushmore forum and introduce myself. I've been riding bikes for over 40 years, and, just bought my first Harley - a 2014 Daytona Blue Pearl FLHX. Cannot wait to get it out on the road and compare to my Honda Shadow Ace, that I've had since '98.

But, I can't take delivery. Evidently, HD issued a recall yesterday on the clutch master cylinder and they are preventing everyone from taking delivery. Has anyone heard anything about this? I understand that there was a clutch cable earlier on Rushmore bikes.

Looking forward to see y'all out on the road...

Default Recall

Just spoke to service at dealer. They confirm the recall and stated that HD will be sending notices out. It is a safety recall, so if you ride be aware that if something happens the company can always say we were warned.

Just got off the phone with my dealer. They just received notice of the new clutch recall this morning. He said one of the seals can tear allowing some pressure loss. If that happens the clutch won't completely disengage causing the bike to want to creep forward when stopped in gear. They haven't been told what the fix is yet.

I also just got off the phone with my dealer and they are confirming the recall with the parts for the clutch recall being shipped out on the 15, so can't do anything until they have the parts in hand. I have over 16,000 miles on mine and I haven't had a problem, so they feel I should be good until the parts arrive.
