Rushmore and wind buffeting
While the vent on the Rushmore's helps with buffeting, it does not eliminate it IMO. My glasses still rattle with the vent open and more so with the vent closed.
Received my JES Custom wind deflectors yesterday and installed them last night. What a difference, 80 on the highway this morning and my glasses didn't move a bit. (Opened the vent and they really shook, probably due to air disruption from the new deflectors). I had these on my '10 and really liked them too. Excellent product!

It all depends on your sitting height and naturally a larger windshield should provide the passenger with less or no buffeting.
At 5'81/2 ( i use to be 5 9) the stock windshield does the job no buffeting, movement annoyance on helmet.
I wear a 3/4 helmet and prescription ray ban sunglasses. Above 45 i normally have the shield down, so no doubt that is why i have no sunglass issues.
I rarely talk on the phone, but i am wired, music thru the helmet and have talked at 50 face shield down and wife knew i was on the bike but couldn't tell by the clear, wind free connection.

There are other factors here. I am 6'1" and the stock windshield pretty much stops the buffeting for my shoulders. Nothing a LRS windshield couldn't fix. I have a set of those deflectors on my 06 and they did help. They really stop the air from coming under your helmet.

I'm completely happy with how my stock shield works on my SGS. I had an '09 and '12 SG and the difference between them in the stock form compared to my '14 is night and day for buffeting. I'm 5'-10", 32" inseam. The main reason I got rid of my '12 SG was due to how much crap I had to add to it to calm down the buffeting (taller shield, wings, lowers). Might as well have had an Ultra. Not that there's anything wrong with Ultras, just defeats the appeal of a SG, in my opinion.
