(I'm thinking the fairing will still deflect most of the wind over the hands but just checking).
I am NOT an ape fan. Not one of those guys who loves the look. Frankly, I always thought they looked a little ridiculous (a LITTLE, not much)... but to each his own. I figured they were more form than function, but once I put mine on, I will never go back. Super comfortable for long rides. The fairing doesn't direct the wind over mine as they sit about 2-3" above the fairing, but the wind doesn't bother me at all. Even when it gets a bit cool out, I have gloves. That, and when I did the bars, I put on heated grips... which are AWESOME!

I rode a stock SG the other day and I had to kick my knees out when I turned sharp just to avoid the bars with the knees. Granted, I'm 6'3", but the bike felt so SMALL compared to mine with the apes and the floorboard relocator kit.

Default Just picked up mine today

My new FLHTK has been laid up at the dealer's for 3 weeks with the 1,000 mile service, clutch master cylinder recall, and installation of my 16" apes. Interesting ride home today. Here's my new bike:

As a general rule Vindiktas are made to order, about 3 weeks. Shouldn't be an issue making them special for you, I wouldn't think anyway.

Bushpilot,
Were you able to use your stock brake and clutch cables with the KST 14's?

I'm pretty sure you can use the stock stuff with 14's other then the 8 inch extension NAMS plug. That's what I was told anyway..

Got my bars in 20 minutes ago, 14 inch Vindiktas, took them out of the box. Can anyone with these bars snap a couple pics of where the smaller diameter of the bars, where the controls and grips go on, where the weld is? Mine isn't looking to smooth. Got off the phone with Joe, GREAT GUY BY THE WAY, and is sending me another set. I just want to make sure what is exposed and what isn't. Thanks!

here is the area I'm talking about...
