Today I installed the Softbrake +2" brake lever and the +1" Softbrake shift lever. Because I don't have lowers, I could go with the +2" brake lever. I took it for a test ride and thought I was on someone else motorcycle. What a difference, so much more comfortable for braking and shifting. Well worth the $235 for both levers. Carl Miles at www.heelguard.com fixed me right up.

Photos attached for those who might want to see them installed.

If there was no clearance there so I can park my size 13 boot under it my heel would be hanging off the board.
I like it too, at first it felt weird. After 5000 miles on my limited I rode my wife's 12 Street Glide and I did not like her brake pedal. I think the new one is more comfortable and allows me to use the back brake better.

Yep, knew it would work well for ya. After almost 12K on mine now, it's a no-brainer for me to have 'em that way on any future bikes.

I love my Soft Brake so far, and Carl was a huge help.

I broke my right ankle around 10 years ago, and my range of motion (Dorsi Flexion) has been limited since the accident. My 2009 and my 2012 FL Models were okay, and I got by just fine with the stock lever on them. My new 14 was real challenge sometimes, but this has been the best improvement for me so far.

Thanks again Carl and Soft Brake.

My SoftBrake showed up just a couple days after ordering. After fighting with the clevis pin for a number of minutes, the removal and installation went very smoothly. The brake pedal access is so much easier than with the stock 2014 pedal. I'm very satisfied.

Default Front brake pedal position-2015 Street Glide
I've been riding for over 30 years and could not adapt to,putting my boot under the brake pedal. I feel that if I needed to use rear in emergency, may size 13 boot would stick under it. I also never had as much problem with melting my boot heel on exhaust when I applied the rear brake.

The solution for me was to install the Kuryakyn floor board accessory that normally moves the boards 1" forward and 1" back in backward. This had effectively moved my floor boards back giving me 1" more reach to the brake pedal and also moved my heel out 1" eliminating the boot melting problem.

Weird, but everything feels and works great for me, a 6'2", 230# old fart. I really like my new Radioactive Green Street Glide. To each his own.

Default Oops

I know, just hit the wrong button, but my unique fix did work! Was there ever a reason given by H-D for changing the pedal? It appears that they do still use the "old" pedal length on the 2015 Road King. My buddy and I thought that they just put the wrong pedal on my bike. Guess I'm not the only one now.

BTW-It seems I'm one of the few people on this board who grew up in the psychedelic era and really like Radioactive Green! Some of us mature and others of us don't. I'm 66, but still think I'm young until I try to move after I wake up in the morning and the aches and pains start!

Softbrake people are great to work with and put out high quality products. I bet they're happy Harley changed the angle of the brake pedal on the Rushmore bikes.
