Default 2014 flhtk fuel guage

Love the bike, great ride, better than my 2012 but I do have an issue.
Just turned over 500 miles on it and today along with the last fill up my fuel gauge stuck at the level it was at before filling. Last time I just tapped the gauge and it went to the full fuel Level, today I had to tap on it several times before it jumped to the full mark. Bike was running at the time in neutral.
Any thoughts, anyone else have or had this problem?

10,000 clics and no problem.
Did you put something in your gas that might have put something sticky on the gauge ?

Maybe the problem is letting the bike run while filling it up . I'm pretty sure like everything else it uses a digital signal which means you need to cycle the key off and on in order to get the new level to show right away . Most newer cars are also like that

It just takes some time for the fuel gauge to update. I fill up with the ignition in run but the engine off. I can't read the trip mileage to log my fuel stop if I turn the ignition off. The gauge will stay in the same place until I start the engine again, about 30 seconds later it will read full.

Did you give it some time to register on it's own?

Mine takes a minute, but does it on it's own. It is not a mechanical gauge.

Ok, now I understand. Wasn't aware it took a few to reset, so I'll give it a try next time and see if it does on its own.
Thanks everyone!

Another thing I recently noticed about mine...

Idling on the kickstand the gauge will not reset after refueling--take it off the kickstand to level, it changes in a few seconds.

I don't know if it would reset on the side-stand eventually or not. After what seemed like waaaayyyy too long, I pulled it up level and then it reset right away.

All the best,

Shane
