Default Radio cut out

Did a search and not finding my exact symptoms - with no navigation destination entered the radio cuts out periodically - just goes silent, then comes back (2-3 seconds). Just picked it up last week and riding in town so it shouldn't be reception - going to take back to dealer - just wondering if it is a setting I can change before I make it back in - thanks for any useful input!

I know you said it comes back, but any chance you see 'WB' at the bottom of the system? On my maiden ride home the radio switched to the weatherband on its own. From reading ahead of time that seems to be a common problem. By disabling the weatherband the issue has gone away. I also disabled the CB as I don't use it and others had noted it can cause cut-out problems too.

GOT IT! - So's here the deal - picked up last Wednesday and got it home, opened everything up and decided I didn't want the com on my helmet yet (old helmet - need to get a new one worthy of the com pieces). Turns out the navigation directions were turned on to com only - hence when she was trying to give me direction it cut the radio out. At work yesterday I still didn't know what was happening and I got it turned off of com and onto the radio speakers so on the way across town last night she spent the entire time trying to tell me how to get somewhere I hadn't entered. I am guessing someone at the dealer was playing with it on the showroom floor. I did some research on here and found that without voice (com) you go the navigations screen and pick the little box with three lines in it and the option to discontinue the "trip" comes up................ finally! Problem solved!
