Is anyone using this on a 2014 FLHXS? I have read alot of bad reviews about poor fitment. Need some input before I buy one.

 

I have the SE Ventilator and the fit and finish is great! The standard SE AC has a silver cast backing plate and I didn't like the unfinished look compared to the wrinkle black back plate. I bought the standard first but swapped it and paid the difference before I ever installed it. The Ventilator has a much larger filter and gives you just a bit more leg room because of the oval shape it doesn't stick out as far as the stock cover. And it's only $249 compared to the $399 of some of the other AC.

 

I installed the big sucker stg 1...like its design better....has an se on my 09 and it always spat oil on the timer cover...but neither this big sucker or the one I had on an 04 did that...

 

Hey Webo I like the original 2014 cover. Have you heard of any problems with the $149 SE KIT that harley sells?

 

I am using the SE stage 1 AC and have no problems with it. I did paint the backing plate with black high heat wrinkle paint and it blends in perfect. Have not had any oil issues either. I like the 2014 cover and IMO it looks really good with the SE medallion.

 

I had a ventilator and did not care for its angle on the engine or having to sock it in the rain. Changed it over to the stage 1 AC, painted the backing plate just like You did, and Yea The SE medallion is 1st class.

I wish I would have thought about painting the backing plate with high temp paint! That's really the only reason I switched to the Ventilator, could have saved myself $100... I have no complaints with the Ventilator but $100 is $100...lol...
