Default Battery charger pigtail location

So I plugged the battery tender into my bike for the first time after finding the loose battery cable. I was going to route the pigtail through the frame to the area above the trans but the stock pigtail has a very short cable. For those that use the stock plug do you just pull the bag and side cover every time you plug it in? Is there a way to route the stock cable so that it can be easily accessed? Thanks!

I've seen some route it underneath the seat

I pulled it out of the side case and kind'a lay it back behind the chrome support for the tourpac. Out if the way and easy to get to. I use it for my Gerbing heated gear mostly.

Do you just run it between the side cover and the frame or did you route it back through the fuse housing and thru the frame? The cable is only about 6" long on my bike so unless I just pull it out and then press the cover back on top of it I can't see it being long enough to route anywhere. Not unless there is some more slack back behind the fuse box which is why I'm asking how exactly some have routed it. Thanks!

There is a notch/indentation at the very bottom of the housing that the wire can fit through so it can hang out the bottom after you put the side cover back on. When not in use I just tuck it back under the lip of the cover. And just in case it may vibrate out, which it hasn't so far, make sure the plug is not long enough to touch the crossover exhaust pipe.

I run mine out the bottom of the cover and zip tied it under the left passenger footboard. Out of site but handy when needed

Zip tied it under the left cover so half of it (with the protective cap) just peaks out from the bottom of cover. It stays put and is easy to attach and detach battery tender without having to move or remove anything. It doesn't touch anything else and is hardly noticeable.

I bought an extension plug, joined them, taped the connection, ran it up into the seat so it comes out by the rider backrest.
