Well my final configuration is going to be the new Klock Werks 8.5" Flare without the fangs. The new windshield does a good enough job for me by itself so I removed the fangs. Don't get me wrong the fangs work very well but I missed the extra air flow at slower speeds in the 40 to 50 mph range on side streets. The KW does a good job on the hwy to eliminate most all buffeting unless there is a strong cross wind. In my older age I'm function over form 95% of the time but I just could not get over the look of the fangs and then add in that it almost does to good of a job...lol... I will most likely buy a pair of the soft lowers for this winter to help reduce cold wind flow. I listed the fangs for sale in the parts forum so if any one wants to give them a try I'll save you $20 or $25.

 

I have the LRS 8" Elite re-curve and have installed the Harley fork wind deflectors. This setup has eliminated the wind buffeting I have suffered on every other bike I put a windshield on and this new to me 2014 SGS. I wear a full face helmet, I'm 5'10" tall.
Now I have installed and am experimenting with the Harley Ultra faring adjustable air deflectors which can be adjusted to send wind to cool me when riding.
The key here is the fork wind deflectors to make this work and I'm willing to jump through these hoops for a quiet space for my big fat head.
I bought faring lowers when I bought the bike but don't have them yet and will install them and remove the fork deflectors when the weather gets cooler.
Good luck with the torture you are going through, as soon as those Fangs sell you'll figure out that you can't live without them.
