Default iPhone and the Infotainment USB Connection

Anyone use the USB connection on their infotainment system to link up your iPhone? I tried using it that way and the screen kept stating it was reading my iPhone and never stopped. So no music every played through that connection. Was hoping it would so that I could keep charging it while the music was streaming through the same connection.

If I unplugged the USB the iPhone would sync with Bluetooth and play no problem. Not a big deal as I can get a car charger for the iPhone, but was wondering if anyone found a solution to that. Would be nice to play music from the iPhone and charge it all at the same time on one cable.

Thanks,

I have had no problem using the USB cable with my iPhone 5. My phone will sync both over bluetooth and cable.

Interesting. The first time you did it was there a long sync time or did it just pop up?

I don't have a crazy amount of music on my phone, so it did not take too long to sync. Maybe a minute or two at top.

I have an iPhone 5. It's a work issued phone so I'm wondering if there's any security that might be blocking it from working. Something I'll have to look into. It will stream through bluetooth, but not through the cable.

I do it all the time. In fact, I recently upgraded to a new iPhone, and leave my old one, which is loaded to the gills with music, plugged in to the USB in the dash. It is always ready to play music.

I connect my new iPhone via bluetooth as well.

No problem with me either. I'd try another cable, and maybe also reboot the phone.
