Headset for 2014 Street Glide question
I installed the J&M HSPT-H14S solo helmet headset connection cable https://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail...ctID=HSPT-H14S
but need to borrow a helmet with a headset to try it out.
Will this cable work on it's own for listening to the GPS and music?
Will I need a flash from the Harley dealer to make it work?
After plugging the helmet speakers into the cable, will the regular speakers be muted?
Thanks,
Mike

I added the H-D cable for my '14 SGS and it works great--no flash required. The J&M cable looks like it might be a more flexible as far as mounting location. As stated, you'll have to switch your audio output from speakers to headset, it's not automatic when the cord is plugged in, although that would be a great feature.

Yes, you can hear GPS and music through the helmet.
If select headphones, but helmet not plugged in, you will hear nothing over the speakers.
In the setup>audio ( I think it's audio, it's the first choice) you have 3 choices of what headphone/speaker choice is. Something like music, prompts, and something else. I'll often have music through speakers and prompts through headphone.
