Default Does anybody know? hand grips

Hi, I was wondering if anybody knew if there is a hand grip cover or something to put over the ugly stock handgrips that came stock on the 2014 FLHTK. I love the heated grips functionality , but the looks suck!!
I was told by the dealer that if I choose to upgrade the only way is to change to another heated grip and pitch the old completely
is this true?

Yes, the heater is in the grips. Changing them is not that hard. To retain the heating you'll have to get new style heated grips.

I've used Grip Puppies on other bikes in the past. They just slide on over your existing grips with some soapy water and a lot of force...lol

I just got a set of foam grip covers from a vendor at a local ride. They velcro (which creates a lip that I do not like) They would have been better designed if the foam did not overlap and attach. they could have had the velcro attach underneath each side on the bottom to fit better. I'm going to modify them with a sewing machine and new velcro when I get time.

I've used the foam grip covers in the past, thought they were a real PITA. They tend to rotate on the stock grip as you are riding and feel weird. If you are really that concerned about the looks of the plain grips rather than the function, I'd replace them but if you haven't priced them, they run about $250. Not worth it to me.

I have to admit, my '14 Limited is the first bike I've owned that I wont contemplate changing out the grips because of the stock heaters. HD does sell a few different styles, but even at the steepest discount I think you would find you'll still be out $200 for heated replacements.

Here is a link to Amazon for Grab On Grips. I have them on my LTD and they work perfect.
Amazon Amazon
. they are only $12.00 so you can replace them as many time as you want. Also they transfer heat from the stock heated grips.
