Just got a new '14 for a work motor. Is it me or is the rear brake pedal different? It seems steeper, almost like the early '99 or so bikes. I seem to be having a harder time getting my toes up onto the pedal. Would I correct??

Yup, it's way different than it was.

 

I don't mind the height or the angle so much, myself, but the width of it I do not like. I think I will eventually cut the pedal in half and find a smaller cover, unless theres an aftermarket one. I haven't looked up any to change it out yet.

 

I'm with you on the size of the pedal, wish it was about 1.5" narrower than it is. I haven't looked for replacement pedals either but I know I would want to stay with the streamliner theme so I don't have to replace everything.

 

The first and just about only thing I replaced on my bike was the brake pedal. I went with the Softbrake pedal. Excellent service, quick shipping and personal call from the owner. I agree. You really have to move your foot quite a lot to get it up to the pedal. I will check out softbrake. Hope it helps.

Offthewall - what is the part number for the SoftBrake that you bought.

 

I'm in the minority here, but I prefer the stock foot brake position to the Softbrake. With the Harley touring bikes I like to push forward with my foot, not down.
