Default Road King to Street Glide

Anyone trade-in/sell their Road King for the '14 Street Glide or SGS? I just sold my '09 RKC and am now borrowing my friend's '07 Street Glide. I like the SG but want to hear opinions from others. I love the sound system and gauges in the fairing and feel more engaged while riding. Though I liked feeling the wind, I mostly rode the RKC with the windshield on (bugs, rocks, etc.). Thanks for the input.

I traded my 07 road king custom on a 14 SGS and love the street glide. I always road my king with shield also I love having the tunes and GPS and the hard lockable bags. I loved my king but the SGS beats it on all levels IMHO. Good luck with your decision.

I traded in my 2009 RK for a 2014 Street Glide. Love the new bike because of the power increase and handling. I had installed a Reckless Fairing on my 2009 so the sound system was much better on the RK, but the gauges are nice located in the fairing on the 14.

Thanks everyone. Just rode the SG for a couple hours down the Malibu coast and through canyons in the Santa Monica Mtns. The SG was, simply put, more fun to ride than the RK. Now let's see if I can hold out until August when the '15's come out so saving a few bucks on the '14 is possible. I just got to keep away from HD dealers for a month to avoid temptation (odds are 50-50).

I traded a 2013 Road King towards my 2014 Street Glide Special and I am extremely happy with the Street Glide.

I had an 07 street glide and let me tell you the 14 is worlds better in every way! They handle better, more power, better sound system, better wheels, and the one handed bags are just great!!! You will love the 14 if you remotely like the 07...lol

Me too, traded '10 RK in on a '14 SGS. Better ride, better handling and MORE POWER! No sounds on the RG and even now I very seldom listen to the SGS sound system, but I do like the NAV on road trips. It told me the other day that I was low on fuel and ask me if I wanted to find the nearest gas station. I knew I was low on fuel and I knew where the nearest gas station was, so SHUT UP! I said NO.

Traded my '07 RK for a "14 SGS no regrets here. My wife on the other hand loved the looks of the RK. so I would say she has some regrets. Truthfully I think it's my wish list of stuff to get to make it mine.

You're going to loose that comfy suspension of the RK on the lowered Street Glide. I think that will be the biggest difference you'll notice over the fairing changes.

Try an Ultra or a limited and remove the Tourpak. That will give you all the niceties of the batwing fairing with the suspension of a full tourer.
