Anybody regret buying a '14?
Thinking about trading in my '09 ultra for a '14 ultra or limited.
I'm just not very confident in the nav/radio system or the liquid cooling. We travel two-up a fair bit (12-15000 a year) and being confident in my ride is a big factor in enjoying the trip. So the question I'm faced with is stick some $ into my 09 or stick more $$$ into a 14?
So was the 14 worth it to you? Do you regret your purchase at all? Should I just wait for the 15s?
And don't say get a gold wing ... Ain't gonna happen

I do!!!!!!!! I can't stop finding things to buy for it!!!!!!!!!!
Do realize that not every owner of a 14 is having problems. I have 4300 miles on my Ultra with zero problems. Same can be said about the Limited's.
It's a given that more dissatisfied owners are going to take to the web to voice complaints than owners with zero issues. Not everyone is having a problem. But like stated in an above post, the 15's will be out in a few weeks and there will be some 14's leftover for a better price.

Went from a 12 Limited to a 14 Limited. I had an 08 Goldwing before the 12. My wife hated the 12 Limited due to the heat on her legs and the tour pack backrest hurt her back after a couple hours. She wanted me to go back to a Goldwing. When the 14 came out I told her about the changes. She agreed we could try one. Took one on a 15 mile test ride at the Kansas city Harley plants open house on a 103 degree day. Wife said a little warmth on her legs but not the extreme heat like my 12. Backrest felt better too. She told me I could buy one instead of another Goldwing. 6,000 miles on the 14 and no regrets. Did 2700 miles in a week the first week of June. No complaints about heat or back pain. All the other changes are just icing on the cake. Dealers should start dealing more on the 14 now. They won't deal on the 15 until all the 14 are gone. New model year bikes usually come out the end of August. I buy now so you can enjoy it while it's still riding season unless you live in a state that's warm year-round

Short answer! Yes...I do regret buying the water cooled model. I realize that im in the minority but I think its an issue. Can I prove it? no. I would like the see how many pumps were repaired tho...
Long answer: I traded in a perfectly good working (absolutely zero issues) 11 heritage classic softail because I wanted the 2 up model...its was just about paid off.
Right after buying the bigger bike a bad accident happened to two folks my wife knows. One was killed the other badly injured while riding..they were hit by a drunk.
That kind of put a damper on her wanting to ride two up.
I went out solo and had a break down due to the water cooled issues...4 days waiting on a part (water pump). The only issues I have had with this bike is its water cooled system.
Yep...its a great riding machine. No doubts in my mind this will be corrected or have been corrected.
Bad luck no doubt but it seems just about every part on the water cooled system was replaced either by program (minor recall) or break down.
I will wait for the two 103's bolted side by side....it will take a lot of coolant that's for sure!

Granted it's my first Harley, but I have no regrets at all! Mechanically I've had no issues at all. The infotainment system is a little quirky but they are relatively minor issues and I'm confident they will be addressed by a software upgrade in the near future. You kinda have to compare the Infotainment system to a new computer or even phone. Are they perfect right out of the box, nope! That's why the issue updates. Not a big deal IMHO.

I traded a really nice '10 Ultra Classic in on a '14 limited. I went through 2 thermostats in the first 1000 miles. The 3rd one is holding.
Do I have any regrets? None! Fantastic motorcycle. I'm headed to Yellowstone and then Sturgis end of July and early August and I am sure the bike will hold up. Knock on chrome!
