That said, I'm still debating on the ultra classic vs the limited ...
The heat never really bothered me much, maybe a few days in the upper 90's it was pretty toasty. Then again I usually ride in the northern midwest, not in texas heat.

Trying to figure if all the extras on the limited are worth it 'to me'. Though it seems like a great idea I have never used my CB, none of my buddies have it. I like the idea of built in gps, but it sounds like I couldn't use it plot my overly complicated backroad rides. Security module ... not sure if that has been worth it as I never saw anyone tampering with my bike. Painted fairing, gauges, chrome wheels, heated grips, extra outlet ... decisions, decisions
Well, the heat from my 14 Ultra doesn't bother me none. I road over 500 miles last Saturday encountering temps from the mid 80's to 105. No problem. As had been mentioned before, the 2015's are so close to being released, you would probably be better off waiting. That way you could negotiate a good deal on a 2014 Ultra, or if you wanted a Limited, you would have the newest rendition available to acquire. Whichever you decide, I'm sure you will enjoy the hell out of it!

Went from an 09 ultra to a 14 limited. New bike is better in every way except for the avc which worked better on the 09. I did have a slight drip from thermostat at 1,000 miles but no other issues. Also had to put a taller shield to be equivalent to the 09's stock shield.

That is very kind of you, thank you. And I do hope you get your issues behind you eventually so you can truly enjoy your bike without any nagging problems or worrying about any of it. Best of luck.

still cant get that bike out of my head rockgeezer!

I know you had a ton of things done but that bike qualifies for its own thread with more photos and some details on the ton of things!

I do regret not having the ability to do that to my bike!

I'm just not very confident in the nav/radio system or the liquid cooling. We travel two-up a fair bit (12-15000 a year) and being confident in my ride is a big factor in enjoying the trip. So the question I'm faced with is stick some $ into my 09 or stick more $$$ into a 14?

So was the 14 worth it to you? Do you regret your purchase at all? Should I just wait for the 15s?

And don't say get a gold wing ... Ain't gonna happen
Don't want twin cooling?
Don't want nav?
Don't want a radio?
Don't want a Road King?

Maybe you should look at an FLHTP Electra Glide Standard Police, it doesn't have any of that stuff, just an empty tray where the radio should be. Or course some changes would be needed to civilianize it but who doesn't change their bike anyway.

Mine doesn't say anything any more.

Got a '14 RK; no nav, no water cooling, and no issues...

Traded my 11 Limited for my 14,even with he recalls, and my latest coolant issue(which is hopefully resolved...not worried cause that's what warrantees are for)…No regrets whatsoever! This is my 4th Harley (3rd Ultra), and by far the best of the bunch!
