Default hidden antenna - loss of reception?

I installed a hidden antenna in my limited and have lost a lot of FM reception. Are there brands of hidden antenna that do better than others? Two stations that would come in crystal clear on the stock antenna now crackle and fade out completely. I don't want to say what brand I have because I want to pull the fairing to double check my install.

I installed the J& M hidden antenna and my reception is the same if not better than the stock whip. Its amazing how good the reception is. Which antenna did you install? I have read about issues with the HD model

I have not noticed any loss of reception with the Boom Audio hidden antenna.

Same here with the J&M. Reception is slightly better with it than the stock whip. It's non-powered unlike the HD internal. The theory of the design is that it's better to have a well designed passive antenna pulling in a strong signal than trying to amplify a weaker, noisier signal.

I also think just eliminating the extra five feet of cable and multiple connectors back to the Tour-Pak helps.

I tried the H-D internal. It sucks swamp water big time. I guess I'll pony up for the J&M.

I tried the H-D version and it sucked. I have the J&M now and it sucks a little less than the H-D one.

i know y'all are talkin' hidden antennas here, but I got a little bitty antenna from eglidegoodies.com that works as well, if not better, than the stock whip.
I have yet to hear anything bad about J&M...expensive but their products work.

I installed the Harley version with no signal problems. I think where we live is the major factor in our differing results. I'm mostly urban/suburban and have great reception.

I have the J&M as well and I would have to say that it isn't very good. The stock whip was not good either. Not real impressed with the FM reception on the fancy 6.5 infotainment system! If I'm not close to the city I listen to my USB drive or bluetooth some form of music.
