2014 ABS brakeline recall
#31
Took mine in to my dealer this AM. Service writers were unaware of the recall, but the service manager was. They printed multiple copies of the recall to distribute to the service department. They had one '14 already in a bay for 1kmi service so it got the recall done 1st. Mine was pulled in next, recall done (no damage found, 2 tie wraps added to secure lines), bike was washed & returned to me in less than 1-1/2 hours.

couple of ty wraps on the lines this is no big deal all. IMO because it's the brake lines going to get a little excited. I noticed how much looser the lines were compared to my 2010. when my gas gets low I'm going to take my tank back off ty wrap my lines down and go. when the dealer gets around to the recalls they can take a look so we can get it in the system as done.

Same here back from the 1K less than 24 hours ago, I did notice on my way home less free play in the front brake lever once after using the brakes, wonder if that's a symptom? Never did it prior

A couple of weeks ago I had my tank off to install heated grips and garage door opener (2014 FLHR). There's three brake lines that run on the right side of the central electrical tray close to the tank bottom. In the middle of the run is a clip that holds the lines to the plastic tray, and at both ends (near the front cross bolt and under the rear tank hold down bracket) are molded 'C" channels the lines are supposed to fit inside away from pinching.
Every line was loose front to back, and there was a small dimple in one brake line under the rear of the tank from earlier contact, but no fretting of the line cover. I took nylon ties and secured the lines rear, middle, and front in their clamping areas. The front is easily visible, the rear can be seen by raising the rear of the tank, but the middle attachment requires the tank either be raised on the right side, or completely removed.
Now there's a Bulletin. Wonder who signed off on that design?
