Throttle body removal for A.C.
#2
Every bike before my '14, I removed the rear tank bolts and propped the rear of the tank up with a board.
My '14 I couldn't get the screws broke loose, so I removed the tank.
It is really simple to do, especially if the tank is near empty.... I did it with a near full tank, and didn't disconnect the wires, just had my son lift the tank straight up from the left side, I removed the bracket, then we set the tank back down.

I got mine off without touching the tank. However I have removed the tank and its super easy. HD recommends though that you run the bike after disconnecting the fuelpump before removing the quick connect gas line.
My Steps for tank removal:
1. Remove console
2. Remove hoses and connectors near the gas cap
3. Start the bike and run till it dies. <10 seconds
4. Remove the fuel line by pushing up on the silver collar and pulling down on the connector. Literally less than 3 drops of gas should come out.
5. Remove the rear tank bolts
6. Remove the front tank bolts
7. Lift tank and set it aside.
Even if the tank is rather full it is not that heavy.
