Default Tips and Tricks to keep 'em shiny and clean

After years of elbow grease and towel drying, I tried a bug cleaner and a leaf blower. Man have I been wasting my time. MOTUL Insect Remover is a must and I will keep a supply of this in the garage for all vehicles. the leaf blower does wonders for water spots and minimizes the toweling needed. I was wondering what other tips/tricks I've been missing out on all these years.

How do you keep yours clean and shinny?

After a good day of riding I touch it up with some detail spray after it cools down and have a beer or 6 while I wait. I wash it probably once a month or when the wheels are starting to look a little dingy. Big fan of using a blower, especially around the engine.

A quick once over with detailing spray after most rides really extends the time between full washes. Keeps everything nice and slick and shiny.

Micro fiber towels. Detailer after rides. S 100 wash product. Leaf blower (There are motor cycle/car blow driers which I think are easier to use.). IMHO the biggest factor other than keeping out of the rain is the bike color. With "bug detailing" I have 2600 miles on my Sand Pearl/Canyon Brown bike and it is "due for it's third wash; mainly due to a wet road on the last ride.

A wet towel over the fairing after a ride will soften up bugs. Just let it sit for 5-10 minutes then wipe down. I'll usually run over it w/ a detailing spray every other time.

I usually use a detailing spray after a long ride and then wipe it down with a micro fiber towel. if I get caught in the rain or it is particularly dirty I take it to the local car wash, pay the guy $50.00 to detail it and get back a new looking bike later in the day. For $50.00 it's well worth it because it takes me about four hours when I give it a good going over.

It's amazing what s100, a wide nozzle pressure washer and a leaf blower will do in 15 minutes.

I use streak free cloth http://www.perfectlystreakfree.com/ to wipe down after or before riding.I use ACE-IT http://www.aceitpolish.com/shop/ to make it shine like the showroom. It is slippery so bugs don't stick as hard.Learned about both of these at Bike Week in Daytona.Try them ,You won't be sorry!

I gain nothing financially for advertising these products.

S100 for road grime and a wide fanned pressure washer. For touch up cleans of bugs and such I use bugslide. This stuff is best cleaner/polish I've ever used.

Unless I rode the rain I don't do a full wash, I wet towel it once a week and hit it with some detail spray. When I do wash I dry with an air blaster, you are right, really cuts down on the wipe thing.
