Has anyone tried a 7" led lamp made for a Jeep? I've done everything I can think of to get my 14 Limited's led projector headlight to work safely in a curve to no avail. Its adjusted up and my aux lights are always on and adjusted up.

The lamp I'm trying to find out more about is the KC HiLite 4233. The video on KC's site shows a round beam of light with high and low beam on which I think may light up the road more evenly in a curve.

My questions are:

Since its made as a replacement for a regular bulb is it possible?
Is it brighter?
Will it work with Can Bus?
With an adapter plug will it be plug and play?

I've looked everywhere and can't find light output info.

Any ideas?

One thing for sure, whoever the headlight designer is, they don't ride a motorcycle.

And neither is the person that approved the headlight design. They should both be fired.

Just wanted to throw in my two cents. I've had both the truck lite phase 7 and the harley projector LED (which it is in fact made by jw speaker mine had it wrote on there somewhere) Both lights were great on my 2013 street glide. I did need to aim aux fogs just right to light up the road when you are at a good lean angle or you lose your light in front of you.

Long term testing I haven't but much miles on my bike but I have both trucklite and JW speaker lights in my Peterbilts at work that do heavy haul work and have logged thousands of miles with not one single failure in either brand nor any moisture in the light and these trucks take a pounding way harder than any harley with 20k pounds over the steer axle. Hope this might help someone weary of dropping the cash on the more expensive lights

Default Why do you have to get rid of your ringz?

I still may install the driving lights because I ride a lot at night and the more light, the better. I guess I would have to get rid of the Ringz then.
Why would you have to get rid of your ringz if you get spot lights?

From a riding and visibility perspective LED's are the most visible daytime lighting out there so thats a plus if you rarely drive after dark. I spend about 15 minutes of dark driving going to work every morning. I like the output of halogens way better in dark then an LED. I've never been flashed by anybody with an LED headlamp even on high beam. Approaching cars in darkness seem to in effect cancel my lighting out on the road. It's important if you night ride to have a head lamp that projects as far ahead as well as wide a pattern possible. It's imperative to be able to spot road kill and animal eyes well off the road after dark. LED's don't do this unfortunately.

My Custom Dynamics LEDs in my turn signals and tail light are phenomenally bright. I know for a fact that a dual halogen will blow a Daymaker LED out of the water with light output. I attached a video i found on you tube so you can see how little light the Daymaker puts out. Low beams horrible and If you want to call it high beam its well you look.

Well after saying a year and a half ago that I'd never run an LED headlight, I've been running the Vision X Vortex 7 for the last 6 months and I'm really happy with the light output day and night, especially the Halo ring part for the daytime, the Halo is as bright as my CD Ringz.
