So you think the reflector style would be a better choice?

There has been several new lights put out on the market since this thread was started. If anyone has any suggestions on lights that should be included, PM me and I'll add them to the first post with the same research and information.

I am interested in finding out more about the new technology, but why ask people to PM you when it would be best for everyone if you made your findings public knowledge?

JW speaker now makes a upgraded 8700 called the evolution 2. It has a wider light pattern. Here is a good comparison video. http://youtu.be/8AR2XHtrTyw

Last night I once again realized just how bad the stock headlight is. I've decided to go with the TL after all of the information I read on this thread. I do have a couple of questions I was hoping some of you could answer.

For a 2014 SGS, will I need a ring, or does the TL fit well without sticking out too much? Also, I'm reading on other posts and reviews that an adapter is needed and also reading that it's not. Does anyone know if I'll need one for my 2014?

Last but not least, how difficult are they to install? I've never installed a headlight before in my life, but I have done several things to my bike and previous bike. I've changed exhaust, grips, handlebars, etc. I'm not afraid to do work, but am hesitant when it comes to the electrical system issues that could possibly come into play.
It looks like this isn't too difficult, but I'd rather hear some opinions here.

Thanks in advance!

My Buddy got the TL and I got the sirius H11 cree LED's. His was a pretty easy install. Mine was easier. Both are WAY better than stock. Truck lites are around $180 on ebay and the H11's are $75.

Are the Sirius H11 Cree LED's plug and play?

Man I miss the lights of my FLTRX... With that being said I am hoping and fairly confident that with the proper adjustment these new LED lamps on my '14 Limited will be OK... I started this evening by adjusting headlight all the way up; may be slightly high just did real quick to check difference... This did help and now I can see that the Auxiliary lamps need to be higher (need reflash to stay on) to fill in the gap between high beam light and auxiliary light... I can see from service manual how these need to intersect... Ordered Snap On FRX181 to adjust auxiliary lamps... Hope this works...

It fits fine but does stick out 1/4"-3/8". You will need the LED pig tail that replaces the Halogen pig tail or you can splice what you need.

Pics in my sig link.
